Dear Players and Parents,
The Clarence Mustangs are a member of USA Hockey and The New York State Amateur Hockey Association’s West Section. The Mustangs have been members of the WNY Amateur Hockey League since the 2005-2006 season.
We expect all players and parents to be committed to their respective teams, to each other, and to put forward the best effort to compete at the Tier 2 level of travel hockey. We support an open architecture for youth hockey. What this means is that after tryouts have finished we evaluate the competitive nature of each team and make a decision on how to put together the best schedule of competition for each team. Our goal is to try to put together a schedule that will produce about a 50% win ratio, more goals for, than goals against and keep a majority of the games within a two goal spread in score. The schedule can be made up of league games, scrimmage games and tournament games, all at the appropriate competition level to challenge each team. We expect and encourage each individual player to seek other specialized camps or instruction in the off season, to help improve their skills, as they prepare for the upcoming season. Depending on the individual coaches desire to travel, you may encounter one or two travel tournaments during the season.
I would like to thank everyone for their interest in the Clarence Mustangs and hope you all have a good experience with the Mustangs ogranization. Please direct questions you may have to your team’s head coach or manager. Remember, Teamwork Builds Champions.
